1. You think no woman should be called a slut, but you’re all for and maybe even participate in slutwalks.

2.You want to ban pornography because it objectifies women but own a copy of “50 Shades of Grey.”

3.You…

Happy Father’s Day

This just totally irritated the piss out of me hearing a bunch of misandrist twats spewing shit about Father’s Day being the creation of the Patriarchy…

Myth: Father’s Day was created to do phase out Mother’s Day.

Myth: Men demanded that they had Father’s Day.

Fact: Father’s Day was first created in Spokane, WA by a woman named Sonora Smart Dodd who was raised along side her five siblings by their father, a civil war veteran by the name of William Jackson Smart. After hearing of a Mother’s Day sermon, she wanted to celebrate it on June 5, her father’s birthday, but due to the lack of time to prepare for a ceremony of that scale, her pastor made it the 3rd Sunday in June. This would go on for several years until the 1920s, when Dodd left to go to art school, and Father’s Day was never again celebrated and drifted into obscurity until her return in 1938.

Other Fun Facts:

-In 1913, a bill to recognize Father’s Day was introduced to Congress.

- In 1916, President Wilson wanted to make it official, but Congress shot it down fearing the holiday would’n’t be a commercial success.

-President Coolidge recommended observing the holiday in 1924, but never went public with his decree. Two more attempts would be made to make Father’s Day a Holiday.

-Cue 1957. A Maryland Senator named Margaret Chase Smith accuses Congress of blatant sexism against the holiday, stating that for 40 years they had been ignoring one parent (fathers) and honoring the other (mothers)

- President Johnson marks the 3rd Sunday in June as Father’s Day in 1966. This is the first recognized public proclamation made by a United States President.

-President Nixon finally made Father’s Day an official holiday on the books in 1972.
